Coming up with some fall baby picture ideas can sometimes be challenging. Newborn family photo ideas don’t always come naturally to me. I sometimes like to figure it out as I work. Many times I will have photo ideas curated with the best wraps, backgrounds and props. Other times I will just figure it out on the fly.
At just only 2 weeks old, this little darling baby came in for her photoshoot and she rocked it! I was excited to use some of my fall themed props to use within her photo session. Her mom and dad were also involved making it really successful newborn family pictures.
A newborn photo shoot can be handled in two different ways. I offer both a newborn only photo shoot or newborn family pictures. Both are identical photo sessions, only the newborn family pictures include family and siblings.
One of my favorite props for newborn photography is this wooden cradle above. It is one of the most versatile pieces I own and I use it not only for newborn photography, but also for milestone photo sessions and cake smash sessions. I bought it many years ago on etsy and sadly the maker makes no more.
For newborn family photo ideas, I always recommend parents to choose neutral colored clothing and avoid bright & loud patterns. Your newborn family pictures will have a timeless appearance when you follow these guidelines.
Fall baby picture ideas, buckets, bowls and props are my trademark for some of the first snaps I take of a newborn baby. It has been almost 10 years I have been into Dallas newborn photography. I love my career path so much and photographing newborns has become one of the biggest joys of my life.
Little Dove Portraits specializes in newborn Christmas pictures, but we also do cake smash, family, baby and maternity photography.
I am an artist, wife, mom, foodie, coffee aficionado, animal lover and adore all things magical. I am blessed to be a mom of 2 amazing kids that both bring endless joy to my life. Beyond photography, I love to sew and many of the adorable outfits and accessories seen on the babies I photograph are handmade by me. After graduating from the Art Institute of Dallas in 2006 I briefly worked in the fashion industry until I became pregnant with my son in 2008. My children have been my biggest inspiration in my journey as a portrait photographer and continue to challenge me every day!
Newborn babies and belly bumps have always had a special place in my heart and it is an honor to get to work with so many wonderful families. I look forward to meeting you and capturing your family’s unique story
