I love buying props to stay current and be the best Dallas newborn photographer I can. Part of your photoshoot cost includes these fun extras and I thought I’d write about it today so you can see some of the things I love about newborn photos. This adorable baby astronaut costume was high up on my list of wants and I finally got to use it with my new cosmic backdrop. We ended the photo session with some classic black and white newborn photos.

I’ve been a Dallas newborn photographer since 2013 and been passionate about learning more about it constantly. Every year I always take a week and attend mentoring sessions that best fit what direction I want my style to go. These days I’ve been loving relaxed poses and ones that involve my wooden cradle. I love to stuff that little felt heart in the baby’s hand. I usually let parents keep them as a souvenir from their photo session.

Planning a newborn session is half the fun. Often times parents allow me creative freedom and sometimes I will be matching colors from the nursery in my sets. Black and white photos are such a classic style and I love doing them because of their timelessness. A big printed canvas in black and white will always stay in style over some of the more detailed sets with props.

One thing I’ve learned about being a Dallas newborn photographer is that scheduling your session early is always best. Having your baby’s newborn photos done early will avoid a host of problems you may run into.
