This first birthday photoshoot was a race car theme complete with a bath photoshoot at the end. “Where would I find a birthday photoshoot near me..?” you wonder and I am located in Wylie about 40 minutes from Dallas. This little 1st birthday photoshoot was planned out to be a race car theme.

1st Birthday Photoshoot

Before I begin my job as a cake smash photographer, we always begin with some portraits of baby. I always break the ice with 1 year olds by giving them some wooden blocks to play with. That helps them loosen up and forget that I am snapping their photo while they play.

Once we get some good happy photos of baby clapping, smiling and being their genuine self I will slide the cake over to them. Some babies will smack their hand right into it and immediately taste their fingers. Sometimes babies aren’t the biggest fan of having messy hands and faces.

Part of being a cake smash photographer is making sure my littlest clients don’t leave the studio sticky and messed up from the cake smash. As a solution, I offer a bath photoshoot at the end of the cake smash photoshoot.

I love being a cake smash photographer – It’s always great fun at the end of a photoshoot to let your little one play and splash in our clawfoot bathtub.
