Last week I had the most adorable little star wars fan in the studio for his very best newborn photos. Our portrait studio is located near Plano TX and I am a photographer specializing in newborn & maternity. This little guy was was a slightly older newborn at 1 month old – but that’s never stopped me before. I wrapped him nice and snug and he was the perfect little sleeper through the whole session! We worked on a couple of custom set ups – star wars and camper theme.
With every newborn session I create, I love to find out little nuggets of info from the moms and dads. Turns out, this little man’s daddy happens to be a star wars fan and loves camping. I love putting a personal spin on newborn portraits!
Star Wars Newborn Session – Plano TX
Why you should book your newborn/maternity session ahead of time
It’s never too early to schedule your maternity or newborn portraits. Once baby arrives it’s a chaotic stream of family visiting, doctor appointments with a little sleep deprivation sprinkled on top. Newborn photos will become low priority and if you don’t already have them scheduled, chances are good you will skip them.
Best Plano Newborn Photographer
After being in this business for many months, I have curated a closet of favorite props that are my go-to’s for my newborn sessions. I live close to Plano, TX and there are SO many home decor stores, thrift shops and mercantile marts that carry vintage treasures like this. One of my favorite things to do is prop shop!
A growing trend I’m seeing lately is the camper theme. I think it’s one of the most darling setups for baby boys! Newborn girls are loads of fun to photograph with pretty headbands that sometimes leaves you in a creative rut when it comes to newborn boys.
One of my biggest repeat requests for both girls and boys is Star Wars. I’m abit of a sci-fi nerd at heart, so I love that I get this request as often as I do!
I am an artist, wife, mom, foodie, coffee aficionado, animal lover and adore all things magical. I am blessed to be a mom of 2 amazing kids that both bring endless joy to my life. Beyond photography, I love to sew and many of the adorable outfits and accessories seen on the babies I photograph are handmade by me. After graduating from the Art Institute of Dallas in 2006 I briefly worked in the fashion industry until I became pregnant with my son in 2008. My children have been my biggest inspiration in my journey as a portrait photographer and continue to challenge me every day!
Newborn babies and belly bumps have always had a special place in my heart and it is an honor to get to work with so many wonderful families. I look forward to meeting you and capturing your family’s unique story
