Last Monday I had the most adorable newborn girl in the studio for a portrait session. One of my favorite things about being a baby portrait photographer is curating the colors and textures into each image. Most of what I have available in the studio are soft, muted colors like soft pink and peach. I spend a good deal of time ahead of each newborn session selecting the different items used in each set.

Parents often ask me, “How do you get these babies to sleep for you?” I always smile and tell them it’s my magical way of swaddling them when we first begin the session. I always start with family photos and eventually transition into the sweet, sleepy photos once they are in a good deep slumber.

Between the delicate wraps, floral headbands and layers of fuzzy goodness I can say with certainty that I have THE best job in the world. Being a baby portrait photographer is definitely on the list of “best jobs ever” !

All kidding aside, she totally made it easy for me. Such a beautiful little newborn girl!

I am constantly adding to my collection of wraps, bonnets and props to further expand my creative edge in being a baby portrait photographer. I love using florals for newborn girls! This baby’s mama requested a fruit theme since she was a summer baby.

Because I want to be the best baby portrait photographer I can be, my sessions are often booked months in advance as to make sure my availability is there for those who put down a deposit.
